To support the decentralization and mainstream adoption of these cryptocurrencies, EDAU has set up Bitcoin and Litecoin supernodes that support the Lightning Network.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"478\" src=\"https:\/\/digivaraliit.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/node-2-1024x478.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1070\" srcset=\"https:\/\/digivaraliit.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/node-2-1024x478.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/digivaraliit.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/node-2-300x140.jpg 300w, https:\/\/digivaraliit.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/node-2-768x358.jpg 768w, https:\/\/digivaraliit.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/node-2-1536x717.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/digivaraliit.ee\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/node-2-2048x956.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>The Lightning Network is a layer 2 scaling solution for Bitcoin and Litecoin that allows for fast and cheap transactions. By setting up these supernodes, EDAU is contributing to the network&#8217;s decentralization, as the more nodes that are run by different organizations and individuals, the more resilient and secure the network becomes.<\/p>\n\n<p>In addition to supporting the Lightning Network, EDAU is also working to educate the public and policymakers about the benefits of digital assets, such as their potential to improve financial inclusion and reduce transaction costs. By doing so, they hope to create a more supportive environment for digital assets in Estonia and beyond.<\/p>\n\n<p>Overall, EDAU&#8217;s efforts to support the Lightning Network and promote the adoption of digital assets are a positive step towards the decentralization and mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies.
